NPL Winners List: Every Nepal Premier League Champion (2024 to 2026)
Janakpur Bolts in 2024, Lumbini Lions in 2025. A short history of every NPL final and who might be next.
Last updated:
The Nepal Premier League is only in its third season, so the winners list is short. But both finals have had a story.
2024: Janakpur Bolts
The first NPL was a huge moment for Nepali cricket, with packed crowds in Kirtipur almost every night. Janakpur Bolts went all the way and beat Sudurpaschim Royals in the final to become the first champions.
2025: Lumbini Lions
The second edition went to Lumbini Lions, who beat, yes, Sudurpaschim Royals again in the final. The Himalayan Times confirms both finals. Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel lifted the trophy.
Sudurpaschim: two finals, no trophy
Spare a thought for the Royals. Two seasons, two finals, two losses. Dipendra Singh Airee's side has been the most consistent team in the league without getting the reward. They open the 2026 season against Lumbini, which feels like fate.
Who wins in 2026?
Lumbini look strong after adding Aasif Sheikh and Shadley van Schalkwyk. Kathmandu have David Warner. Biratnagar have Sandeep Lamichhane and now Angelo Mathews. Janakpur have rebuilt. Honestly, in a 32-match tournament where one bad night in the playoffs can end your season, picking a winner is a mug's game.
My heart says this might finally be Sudurpaschim's year. My head says nobody knows.
Quick list
2024: Janakpur Bolts beat Sudurpaschim Royals in the final.
2025: Lumbini Lions beat Sudurpaschim Royals in the final.
2026: to be decided on 21 November.
